Pre Recruitment Education Program (PREP) - 2025-2026

Welcome to the Pre-Recruitment Education Program (PREP)! We are pleased that you have chosen to learn more about fraternity and sorority life at California State University, Long Beach! It is our firm belief that the experiences, learning, and rewards of college life can be enhanced with membership in a fraternity and sorority. The Fraternity and Sorority community at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) is unique in that its diversity reflects that of the campus population as a whole. Students of all backgrounds and cultures have found a place for themselves in one of our 33 local, regional or national fraternity or sorority chapters!   There are many things to know about fraternity and sorority membership and this program is designed to help you learn more about this particular involvement opportunity at CSULB. Fraternity and sorority members hold high a core sense of values that support greater academic success, community service and philanthropy, the development and strengthening of leadership skills.   Any student interested in attending any fraternity or sorority recruitment or informational event must complete the Pre-Recruitment Education Program (PREP) in its entirety. This program is estimated to take approximately 10 minutes to complete. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ATTEND ANY OR PARTICIPATE IN ANY FRATERNITY OR SORORITY RECRUITMENT EVENT WITHOUT COMPLETING THIS PROGRAM. PREP Learning Outcomes:  After completion of the PREP program, potential new members will understand the following: The structure of the fraternity and sorority community at California State University Long Beach. The benefits of membership. University policies CSU system-wide polices regarding fraternity & sorority life, alcohol, drugs and hazing The effects of drug and alcohol abuse on the body and recognize signs of Alcohol Poisoning How to identify and report hazing Communication methods to report any dangerous or illegal behavior or situations that are concerning, uncomfortable or questionable Consequences of policy violation at California State University, Long Beach.
Interfraternity Council (IFC) 9 Chapters Governing/coordinating council for North-American Interfraternity Conference fraternities. You will find that this council is diverse, and will include men from an array of cultural backgrounds. Delta Chi, Phi Kappa Tau, Pi Kappa Phi, Kappa Sigma, Sigma Pi, Sigma Chi, Tau Kappa Epsilon, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, and Theta Chi

National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) 7 Chapters Governing/coordinating council for the historically African-American fraternities and sororities that are affiliated nationally with the National Pan-Hellenic Council, Inc. This council is often referred to as the "Divine Nine." Panhellenic Council (PHC) 8 Chapters Governing/coordinating council for general sororities that are members of the National Panhellenic Conference. Panhellenic is a collective of 8 social sororities. Here you will find a diverse group of women who are committed to the pillars of our FSL community.   Alpha Omicron Pi, Alpha Phi, Delta Delta Delta Delta, Gamma, Delta Zeta, Gamma Phi Beta, Sigma Kappa, and Zeta Tau Alpha.

Multicultural Fraternity Sorority Council (MFSC) 6 Chapters Governing/coordinating council for our culturally-based fraternities and sororities. These organization are NOT exclusively for a specific identity.
